Zoning Bylaw Amendment
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given to the residents of the Town of Derby, VT that the Derby Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the Selectboard Room of the Municipal Building, 124 Main Street Derby Center on Monday May 20, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. This hearing will be held for public review of and comment on the revised zoning bylaw pursuant to Title 24 VSA, Chapter 117.
The purpose of the proposed zoning bylaw revision is to provide for the future growth and development of the Town of Derby. The revised zoning bylaw, if and when adopted, will affect the Village Commercial Derby Center (VCDC) zoning districts within the Town.
Proposed Zoning Bylaw Amendment
Add Private School as a Conditional Use in the Village Commercial Derby Center (VCDC) zoning district.
Copies of the proposed zoning bylaw revision may be obtained from the office of the Zoning Administrator. Dated in Derby, Vermont, May 2, 2024.

The Zoning Administrator is appointed by the Derby Selectboard for a 3 year term. The current appointment expires in 2023.
The Zoning Administrator is available to assist applicants with the permitting process, to coordinate the Town’s development review programs and to provide staff support for the Planning Commission and Development Review Board. The Zoning Administrator shall literally administer and strictly enforce the provisions of the Town of Derby Zoning Bylaw, and in doing so shall inspect developments, maintain records, and perform other related tasks as is necessary and appropriate.
The Planning Commission is responsible for writing the Zoning Bylaw and the Town Plan. The Development Review Board is responsible for Site Plan Review of all commercial applications, Conditional Use Review, and Appeals.
